The Aims of the School
The school aims to provide a happy, caring, stable, secure and stimulating environment in which individual children can develop to their full potential - academically, emotionally, socially and physically; where children are encouraged to think for themselves, to develop basic skills and to use their own initiative as often as possible; where children are expected to work hard towards their own highest standards in an atmosphere which encourages the growth of confidence, independence and self-discipline. As well as meeting the present and immediate needs of children, we must be concerned with working to their future needs as developing adults.
We recognise that every pupil is unique in terms of character, interest, ability, motivation and learning needs.
We aim to promote, through our carefully constructed curriculum, the spiritual, moral and cultural development of our pupils.
We are concerned that our pupils, having gone through our school, have the skills and attitudes which will be of use to them, not only in their future studies, but also throughout their lives in an increasingly complex, challenging and changing society.
We invite parents to help us fulfil these aims and become partners in the education of their children. We want your child to grow into a mature, creative, tolerant, sensitive and responsible adult - in short, we hope they will be well balanced, well educated, knowledgeable, articulate, numerate individuals who can think and reason through open and enquiring minds. The school has a statement of Core Values, a copy of which can be found at the end of the prospectus.
